Integrative counselling - applying all approaches and therories learnt to adapt each session to ensure each clients needs are met in the most appropriate and beneficial way.

Person - Centred
Person-centred therapy is an approach that emphasises on empathy, acceptance and genuineness within the therapeutic relationship.
Within Person-centred therapy, the therapist provides a supportive, non-judgemental environment where clients are empowered to explore their feelings, gain self-understanding, and move towards personal growth at their own pace.
Person-centred therapy is the foundation of the counselling which I provide, always keeping the client at the centre of the session, providing the 'core conditions'; empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard.

CBT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach used in therapeutic counselling that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
CBT is based on the idea that psychological distress is often maintained by unhelpful thinking patterns and learned behaviours, rather than by past events alone. By identifying and changing these patterns, people can improve how they feel and cope more effectively with challenges.
CBT is typically goal-oriented, time-limited, and present-focused, with an emphasis on applying skills outside of sessions. It is widely used to treat anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, phobias, and other mental health concerns.

Gestalt
Gestalt therapy is a counselling approach that focuses on self-awareness, personal responsibility, and living in the present moment.
It helps clients explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours as they arise in the here and now, rather than focusing primarily on past experiences. Through increased awareness and experiential techniques, Gestalt therapy supports clients in gaining insight, resolving unfinished issues, and developing greater authenticity and emotional wellbeing.
Gestalt therapy can also involve creative work which makes the therapy dynamic and interactive, helping clients experience their emotions and patterns directly, rather than just talking about them.
